What’s more amazing of this piece of work is that it used an unusual mixed media in the form of “acrylic on canvas” (“Art Appreciation,” n.d.). Erna interpreted her love for culture and beliefs and the value to the Aboriginals of Australia as this does not only interpret art but also the concept of dreaming through “presence or mark of an ancestral in the world” (“Compare and Contrast,” n.d.). The artist was successful in conveying her work as I understood the essence and the message of it after I was overwhelmed with her unusual media usage.

This is because the painting just showed such cleverness and groups of various shapes and colors, and yet they fit good together when they are combined. I can imagine how these colors move into my dreams as that of having a feast or celebration. Another work of art I discovered is a good example of an unusual media usage which made a great impact and that there is much more to understand from the work. Chris Ofili’s The Holy Virgin made in 1996 gained criticisms worldwide back in the good old days.

This reflected the image of the Holy Virgin Mary and it used glitter, polyester resin and oil paint (“Saatchi Gallery,” n.d.). The unusual mixed media used was elephant feces and collage of pornographic images. Several political persons criticized such art and the mode of punishment on the museum that presented the art (“Hillary Steps Into,” 1999). . “londoner” and the relation of the issues on racial discrimination on black women, “paradox of the virgin mother,” and understanding refinement of a being and caricature are the essence of his work for which I was able to understand very well on the way he conveyed his message.

He associated the significance of “junk” and culture associated into images which then allowed me to fully understand the message of his art (Harrison, 2002). Nobody would think it had such deep meeting at first sight due to its undesirable features especially sensitive since it involves a religious icon. Nevertheless, you can gain insights and appreciation of the work if you try to analyze it. My last but not the least stop was Robert Rauschenberg's Monogram created in 1959. This creation involved several pieces of unusual stuff.

The unusual mixed media used was stuffed Angora goat, tire, police barrier, shoe heel, and a tennis ball (Public Broadcasting Service [PBS], 2006). This used paint with a combination of oil, paper, fabric, printed paper, printed reproductions, wood, and metal on the canvass along with the unusual stuff I mentioned above. The artist related and used several combinations of stuff that may seem not related to each other but when put together convey a certain degree of relation just like a conversation.

His work is said to be a “way of bringing together the inventiveness” of his idea of combination mixed with his adoration for painting. He then used this kind of work to create a “commentary on contemporary society” utilizing images that assisted in the creation of that society, and I saw and understood how the combination of the materials along with the painting conversed with each other and provided meaning (LightMilleneum, 2006). It was more like of
