Google’s Organizational Culture Introduction An organizations culture is so vital to its success this is because it brings a bout a difference A good work culture could help while ensuring right talent is employed to assist while going about the transformation process. Our case study focuses on Google Inc. This is because its one of the most outstanding companies likely to have made a great step while embracing technological advancement in a more innovative way as a result of it organizational culture thus providing an in-depth look at how crucial it is. To attain such a level proper procedures are put in place to realize a difference such as the observation of adequate recruitment procedures to ensure the right staffs are netted thus can employ their skill in an efficient manner. In this case study we’ll highlight how innovation made possible the present work culture has facilitated Google’s growth to a great extent thus maintaining its position as a dominant player (Alvesson, 1987). Before its entrance into the market a variety of search engines existed such as yahoo but has for one reason prevailed above them as most people seek its services in preference to others. This is due to its efficiency as well as relevance in the market now that it has tried to adopt a model keen on capitalizing on all the present opportunities in the market. One of the greatest advantages derived from it is due to its speed and reliability. While trying to keep abreast with technology a move to hire the best skill was welcomed. So as to maintain their motivation a step to reward staff has helped to a great deal now that all are trying their best while enhancing the overall outcome. The management thus no longer needs to struggle more as is the norm in most organizations leading to a relaxed workplace sparing creativity as all pursue what they love. In most formal organization one is expected to put on an official dress; casuals dress is sometimes worn only on festive seasons but isn’t the case in Google owing to staffs putting on casuals at any one point. Some are likely to be seen with skating boards as well as other gaming equipments and tools and has to a great extent helped while creating a relaxed mood (Wakefield, Blegen, Uden-Holman, Vaughn, Chrischilles & Wakefield, 2001). It thus emerges that perhaps the best way to encourage productivity is by availing such an environment. While at work some are unlikely to find time for body exercise now that their schedules are fully engaged; at Google this is so different now that they are well facilitated with such facilities all geared at helping them realize their fitness in a more efficient manner while still working on team building initiatives at both organizational as well as their private life as well. This is basically due to Google unlikely to achieve much without every ones input. Staffs receive a kings kind of attention such as massage rarely experienced in many organizations. In this respect it is also acknowledged that apart from just offering their service to the organization all are also obliged to develop their personal life. In case some may be undergoing a bad experience this could as well affect their lives thus pushing down their expected production. This compelled Google to facilitate their welfare whenever such issues immerged and could as well receive the much needed support whenever need in a speedy manner while still being given time to handle such occurrence. Another outstanding phenomenal has been that exhibited by all stakeholders while valuing every ones input thus developing a family kind of experience. It’s as a result of commitment to service that much has been realized within a short span of time than anticipated. Clients rarely look for quantity rather is keen on quality which if assured can go a long way in encouraging their following thus assuring constant income. As a result of the high traffic generated most business has been attracted as every company now seeks to advertize itself on the global net which has aided while pushing up Google’s turnovers (House, Hanges, Javidan, Dorfman & Gupta, 2004). Factors that caused Google to embody this particular culture A lot had been learned from past experiences and thus the need to adopt change which in this case was of the essence so as to avoid going round in circles. While adopting a shift a lot has been realized and has well illustrated that perhaps having people in a formal setup while embracing its inclined to change thus the need to facilitate a shift to ensure their ability are not only natured but utilized well to realize the expected growth. In line with this it was also crucial to ensure a keen eye was directed at the changing world of trends this is because customers needs were also changing yet they still had to be catered for in a more engaging way likely to assist while studying their attributes dictated by likes and dislikes so as to direct the necessary goals while solving such issues. It was also good to listen to clients mainly because some were likely to be aggravated when no attempt was done or rather were not listened to at all thus could even go looking for other service provider likely to offer the much needed service in a more accurate way (Fortune, 2007). People also differed to a great extent; some also were able to operate well under certain conditions thus the need to employ the much needed atmosphere to guarantee a turnaround in their productivity while adding value to the organization. Google is a service oriented company; and has also benefited more while learning to look at its customers with all the much needed respect. This is seen owing to its vast user base yet it has managed to maintain its image as a popular brand sticking to its principals. It’s despite them being located far and wide but loves her experience. Orientation has also been done while introducing new products to the market as well as employing new talent in its business. Despite setting up meeting one would expect them to be scheduled for several hours this isn’t the case though now that some view it as mare discussions yet so effective than thought. Rarely do the take so much time than expected and has been all facilitated by the good work environment created (Hofstede, 1980). The best leadership attributes best suiting organizational growth Google has spearheaded a campaign aimed at ensuring good culture is developed. This is because the organization relies on them to accomplish its objective. This has thus caused it to hire those valuing its traits. To accomplish this; a stringent process is carried out while trying to actualize this objective. Leaders chosen ought to embrace the company vision while going an extra mile geared at transforming the organization leading to high growth momentum. They are expected to keep up with team spirit while trying to bond staff at the work environment. While carrying out their mandate it is crucial for them to practice ethics while responding to customer queries as well as their spiritual well being. Part of their mandate entail going about problem solving in a professional manner (Riad, 2005). It’s unlikely to make it without risk taking thus the need to as well embrace aggressiveness. In most work places it’s unlikely to realize much without practicing freedom thus they shouldn’t be autocratic rather team players while availing all the needed support. When a good environment is facilitated, staffs are unlikely to indulge in unhealthy competition witnessed in most organizations thus aiding while limiting the likelihood of bad tendencies among staffs (Google, 2007). Part of their goal ought to empower staff to spearhead Google’s vision while thinking beyond the ordinary. The leaders are also expected to embrace the use of technology as well as other mechanisms while trying to improve the work environment while also ensuring staff are also motivated through the use of rewards as well as promotion. It could also be aided by other programs such as training. This is all geared at making the service on offer appealing. Conclusion In case a decline in service demand is noted an adjustment may be required to sustain growth; this is likely to be due to increased competition from emerging players. The reason as to why this may be taking place could be because the competitors may be taking advantage of existing gaps yet to be capitalized on thus the need to keep on upgrading its services.
