Culture is a key aspect that defines a group of people. The War Memorial of Korea Museum is located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul in South Korea. Materials associated with the Korean War are preserved and exhibited in the museum, which has about 33000 artifacts (Korea Tourism Organization, n.d.). I noticed that the museum has six indoor halls, which are the War History Room, Development Hall, Large Machinery Room, Patriotic Memorial Room, 6.25 Korean War Room, and Expeditionary Forces Room. The first thing that came to my mind when I was at the museum is military weapons because the name of the site suggests that it is related to the Korean War.

The machinery rooms had parachutes, statues of military troops, military helicopters, and guns of various types among other weapons. Hundreds of people from various parts of the world visited the museum that day. One of the things I found interesting in the museum is the sculpture of the family in white. A family is a functional unit of society and the country. Therefore, including a sculpture of the family among the artifacts in the museum is a depiction of the role of the family in Korean society and the Korean War.

The sculpture is designed in such a way that the parents sitting with their two children. They seem to be teaching the children something. I also found the outdoor exhibition interesting. I have never seen such military weapons, aircraft, and materials before I went to the museum. I had firsthand information about the kind of materials used in the Korean War. The most prominent tools I noticed in the museum are colors and statues. Red and white colors were used to represent the identity of people associated with the artifacts at the museum.

Statues were used to depict the people and materials involved in the Korean War. The experience I had at the museum enabled me to understand the culture of the Koreans and their identity. The Korean War was an opportunity they had to defend their identity and beliefs. After the indoor and outdoor exhibition at the museum, we participated in a cultural event about Alice in Wonderland. We were introduced to Wonderland through an interactive session. The Wonderland maps provided images of the adventures Alice.

Hundreds of visitors attended the cultural event. Each individual paid 12000 won, which is equivalent to $10. There are various versions of Alice in Wonderland, which are all based on the novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. This novel was written in Britain in the mid-19th century. I found the version during my visiting interesting since it uses a different approach to Alice’s adventures. The use of pictures, maps, and illustrations gave me the opportunity to create my own imaginations of the story.

The tools I noticed in my experience with Alice in Wonderland are imagery and color. Figurative language was used to describe various places visited by Alice. Through the imagery, I could figure out what Alice looked like. Various colors were evident in the maps. The green color was used to depict vegetation and trees. Blue represented water. Alice in Wonderland gave me an emotional connection with the fantasy world, which is full of unachievable desires.
