Extract of sample "Feminism in the Downtown Abbey"

The soap Downtown Abbey appeals to most women because the female characters struggle to overcome a patriarchal system. It depicts a nightmare in history that women can escape. The oppressive class system favours the patriarchy oppression of women. It demonstrates women in traditional gender roles. Feminism seeks to address women rights in a patriarch society, advocating equal rights for women as is for men. It started in the early 20th century as women became aware of how their suppression in a male-dominated society limited their potential.

In the first wave of feminism activism, women sought full political inclusion, property rights and right to vote. The second wave in the mid-20th century advocated other areas in regard to the social life of the women. The third wave in late 20th century sought to address geopolitical differences as speared by queer and masculinity studies. However, these waves were viewed as being less important thus standardizing feminine thought. Some groups in the UK enjoyed more advantages in regard to feminism relative to other groups.

The male gaze appeared to be unavailable for black women because they were unworthy of the male gaze, triggered even more activism. Anglo-political feminism was more advantage relative to geopolitical contexts. Comics, romantic books and video games contort women by hypersexualizing their roles. The design assumes that the audience is male, and thus the foundation for erotic spectacles. Advertisements present women as objects for a price. The question that gazes is only credible for men brought even more compromise for Mulvey's work.
