The paper 'Functioning of Halliburton Company" is a great example of a management case study. The current assignment tries to analyze the usage of integrated theory in the contemporary business world. Since the emergence of globalization, the extent of biases and difficulties has grown in most countries. Due to increased industrialization, demand created for energy resources and their services has substantially increased. Such factors have helped energy serving companies, like, Halliburton Co.

, to grow both in terms of scale and scope. However, factors such as oil spill, civil unrest in Middle Eastern countries, unfavourable weather conditions, low credit, fluctuating oil prices, business cycle volatility and market competition, have generated commercial issues for Halliburton Company. The researcher in the assignment had used Hard Systems Approach and certain integrated theoretical models for such issues. SWOT, McKinsey’s Seven S, Culture Web and Perpetual Mapping, were models used by the researcher for the purpose of judging strategic issues of the company.

The second part of the assignment had proved that there are certain shortcomings of these models, which can only be reduced through the application of other dynamic models like, PESTLE, Ansoff matrix and BCG matrix. Using the Hard Systems Approach, it was found that higher liquidity, lower deadweight loss, mergers, business expansion and greater return-oriented investments can help to lower problems faced by the company. The entire assignment contains three parts, a business report, an academic report and a self-reflective report.

The self-reflective report elaborated on the personal view of the researcher regarding theories and implications of the assignment. Finally, the researcher will prove that integrated theories should be incorporated by giant multinational companies like Halliburton Co., for ensuring stability in business and achieving long-term growth. This integrated management project focuses on the functioning of Halliburton Company. It is an American multinational company operating in more than 80 countries around the world (Halliburton, 2014).
